8/12/2024 - ALL TESTING INFORMATION

  • The DIGITAL PSAT/NMSQT FALL 2024

  • PSAT/NMSQT payment for 11thgraders will begin on 8/15/24-8/30/24. Payment for 9TH GRADERS will begin on 8/26/24-8/30/24. Pay through OSP (Online School Payment)

  • PSAT/NMSQT will be in mid-October 2024 (tentative)

  • PSAT/NMSQT scores will be available in mid-November 2024 in the collegeboard.org website.

  • All10th graderswill test forfree!DO NOT register in thecollegeboard.comwebsite for the PSAT/NMSQT exam. I will schedule 10thgraders.

  • 9th graders pay $12.85 and 11thgraders pay $10.40. The 11thgraders get priority due to scholarships (National Merit Scholarship).Payment information is below. Again, Do not register for this exam in thecollegeboard.orgwebsite.
  • This is a first come-first served and our 11th graders are given priority. I have a limitednumber of seats. Seats might be sold out before the due dates of payments.

    The due date does not mean that we will have seats/exams available. Seats are limited, so once the seats are taken, then there are no more exams.
  • Please do not email and ask me to register you for the PSAT/NMSQT test. ThePSAT/NMSQT exam can be purchased online in theOSP payment platform found in the student/parent portal.ONLY students who are in 9th and 11th grade will need to pay for it. All 10thgraders are FREE.
  • PAYMENTS- HOW TO- Go to the student or parent portal and login. Go to Apps/services on the top and look for OSP (Online Student Payment). Click on SECONDARY SCHOOLS- Select and click Miami Palmetto Senior High School 7431 - Select thePSAT/NMSQT 9th grader OR thePSAT/NMSQT 11th grader.DO NOT PAY on the WRONG grade level.If you do, then you willnot get a testbecause you are using the wrong grade level. You might miss your chance on a test.
    • 11th graderscan start paying on8/15/24 through 8/30/24 (midnight).Make sure that you pay As soon as possible because, I will open the payment to 9th graders on the last week. First come, first served and limited seats!

    • 9th graderscan start paying on8/26/24 through 8/30/24 (midnight).First come, first served, and limited seats!

    • All payments should be done throughtheOSP system(Online Student Payment). I STRONGLY suggest that you pay through OSP.

    • If you cannot pay through OSP, then You will need to go to the treasurer's office in the main office, room 1102, ext:2330 to pay in cash.Treasurer office time= Monday through Thursday 7:00AM-12:30PM. No cash payments are accepted on Fridays.

  • 10TH graders!- If I do not schedule you to take the PSAT/NMSQT, you MUST CONTACT ME! I might have missed you, so please contact me if you are not in my list. The list will be given to ALL teachers, but theENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTSteachers will be responsible for distributing testing passes. TEACHERS, please let me know if you are missing students in the list. If the student is not in my list, then they should come and talk to me. The list will be sent out in the next few weeks. I am just giving you all a heads-up! My office is inside the media center.IFyou are in 10thgrade andNOT taking English 2, then YOU need to contact me ASAP.

CON'T TEST INFORMATION 2024-2025:

  • BIOLOGY BASELINEwill be in August/September 2024- tentative.

    • The biology baseline is just a baseline. It is only a measure to see what the student knows at the beginning of the school year.

  • HMH READ180Last two weeks of August 2024- tentative

  • F.A.S.T PM1 testing

    will start in September (dates tentative). The test is for all 9th and 10th graders only. Students will be informed by their English teacher. There will be three F.A.S.T tests throughout the year. The first two F.A.S.T (FAST PM1 & PM2) tests will be more of a baseline and it will not count against the student or scored. The last F.A.S.T. PM3 will take place in May 2025.

    • There will be a "Writing" portion for the FAST PM3 this year in April 2025, but it is NOT clear if it will count or be added to the FAST PM3 Reading exam/score. This information is tentative/pending.
  • FALL RETAKESwill take place in September 2024- dates tentative.
    • NO retakes for those 9thgraders who did not test well in the FAST PM3 in May 2024. Retakes for the FAST PM3 isONLY for current 11thand 12thgraders.
    • Most NG students will also be scheduled to test in September 2024-tentative

  • PSAT/NMSQTwill be in mid-October 2024- tentative

  • FCLEend of November 2024- tentative

  • WINTER RETAKESin December 2024- dates tentative

  • HMH READ180 December 2024 (first two weeks)- tentative

  • FAST PM2- December 2024/January 2025 tentative

  • MYA- January/February 2025 tentative

  • ACCESS ELLS-February 2025 tentative

    • Algebra 1 EOC concordant score information
      • If you did not pass your algebra 1 EOC/BEST (graduation requirement), do not despair. There are several options for you to meet the BEST/algebra 1 EOC graduation requirement.
        • Scoring a level 3 and above in your BEST geometry EOC will suffice the algebra 1 EOC concordant score. In other words- if you pass the geometry EOC, then it will count as passing the algebra 1 EOC. So, if you are taking geometry this year, then DO YOUR BEST in May 2025!

        • Take the PSAT/NMSQT. Score 430 and above in the MATH section in PSAT/NMSQT exam. (Pay for the PSAT/NMSQT if you are an 11thgrader who still needs the algebra 1 EOC)
        • Take the SAT. Score 420 and above in the Math section of the SAT. (collegeboard.org)
        • Take the ACT. Score 16 and above in the Math section of the ACT. (ACT.org)
        • Take the BEST/algebra 1 EOC again. I strongly suggest the ACT/SAT/PSAT-NMSQT

        • Take the CLT and get a math score of 11 and above.


    • FAST PM3/ FSA ELA Retakesconcordant score information
      • If you did not pass your 10th grade FAST PM3 (graduation requirement), do not despair. There are several options for you to meet the FAST ELA graduation requirement.
      • Take the SAT. Score 480 and above in the READING section of theSAT. (collegeboard.org)
      • Take the ACT. An average score of 18 in your English/Reading section of theACT. Simply,addboth scores (English and Reading scores) and divide by 2. A score of 17.5 rounds up to 18. ACT.org

      • Take the CLT. Asumscore of 36 between both sections (Verbal Reasoning and the Grammar/Writing sections). In other words, they need to receive a score of 36 out of 80- it does not matter the amount per section, just a sum of the two sections.

        • To meet concordant scores for the FAST ELA the student needs to receive a CLTsumscore of 36 in parts 1 & 2. In other words, they need to receive a score of 36 out of 80- it does not matter the amount per section, just a sum of the two sections.

        • To meet the math algebra 1 concordant score the student needs to receive a score of 11 in part 3 (quantitative- math section).

        • Exam is $59. Student should register to take it throughout the year. ALL registration information is found in www.cltexam.com

        • They offer financial aid.

    • ****If you have Free/Reduce lunch, you may qualify for a fee waiver for theSAT. Pleaseapply for free/reduce lunch. This year, the district is allowing all students to havefree lunch. HOWEVER, this isNOTthe same thing asactually qualifying for free lunch. If you qualify,it will allow you to get up to TWO fee waivers for theSAT. Fill out the income survey!

    • Contact Ms. Olga Gonzalez (She is the counselor's secretary). You will find her in the attendance office to receive SAT fee waivers.

        • SAT fee waivers are a first come-first served and there might not be one always available. Waiversare constantly being offered. However, if we run out of SAT fee waivers, you are also able to apply for one in collegeboard.org
    • PLEASE go tocollegeboard.org,ACT.org, and/or cltexam.com for testing dates and deadlines. These tests are given throughout the year.
