Great food and drink really good value for money.Good choice from just chips to meatballs and mashed potatoes, pasta carbonara and burgers. All the usual coffees from expresso to latte. You must try the cloudberry vodka coffee or mint liquor hot chocolate both to die for if you need that bit of anti freeze Kids selection of sausage, proper chicken bites and meatballs..Staff wonderful and speak perfect English and a very sweet with the kids and gave them a chocolate. If you need a good bite to eat then try here.Open to early Feb to midnight for those wanting to see the aurora on the lake but need a break to warm up with a fantastic hot chocolate or something to eat with the kitchen open to 23:45.

Delicious pizza and nice that there are two vegan options! However disappointing that this new menu has fewer vegan options than the older menu. I was worried when I read previous reviews about bad service, but our experience was very good!

Espresso has a nice taste. But the milk for the Cappuccino is not foamed properly and way too hot - more a milk coffee instead of a Italian Cappuccino.

We had early dinner in this Neapolitan pizzeria in the middle of Lapland. The service was friendly and fast, also the pizzas came fast. I had Prosciutto e fungi which was ok but not supertasty, my companion had Diavola, which she liked a lot. The pricing was moderate if not a little upscale. The place's interior design is modern but it felt a little bit bleak. Maybe it would feel different when it is full of people.

Menu was almost as all over the place as the playlist.Fajitas were wildly overpriced considering that the salsa and the guacamole were storebought and the actual tortillas were the cheapest you can buy from a store.I had the cheese one and the main thing I had for filling was onion.The beef and reindeerpots had one taste which was pepper. Both meats were chewy and some of the vegetables felt almost raw.One star for good service and the otso=karhu beer tastes the same here as it tastes anywhere else.

Cosy place which serves unusual meats. I got a burger with a bear steak and smoked reindeer and my boyfriend got some moose meatballs. For dessert we had a Cloudberry Panna Cotta which was nice and creamy. Cloudberries are local berries and they are considered to be the most expensive in the world. Best burger I has in a long time! I ordered the lapland burger that also has a reindeer cold cut in it - simply so juicy and tasty! The burgers come with a choice of fries, sweet potato fries or salad. I paid 23 euros for the burger, sweet potato fries, garlic mayo and a tea. There is a fireplace and it's quite cozy. I would love to come back!

Went in the day before to have a look at the menu which is helpfully printed in both finish and English in the porch area we ordered 3 burgers all of which turned up at the same time (about 15 to 20 minutes) in very beautiful plate/traythings burgers were all cooked (medium so ask if you want it well done)and tasted delicious but you have to use a knife and fork to eat them as they are to l and messy to eat any other way (bit like a big mac)

All I can say is incredible food! Simple menu that mostly just consists of burgers but you can tell they have nailed them to perfection. We had the reindeer burger and it was so tender and flavourful. Definatley in the top 3 I've ever had. And the chips were also very well cooked and some of the best I've had in a while. Best burger I've had in Finland so far, it's up there with one of the best burgers I've ever had. That's saying something as I eat A LOT of burgers. The smoked mayonnaise is a particular highlight. The restaurant is really cool with a couple of old ski chairs upcycled into bar stools and old T-bar lifts turned into lighting. All in all a very pretty restaurant with exceptional burgers.

The older lady at reception was always willing to help us with booking activities, giving us advice etc. Our lodge had our own sauna and we were right next to the cross country skiing trails. And on one of the nights we stayed in we even managed to see the Northern lights outside our lodge. The buffet dinner is also decent value for Finland. We had a relaxing few days staying here and would recommend to others

Lovely place to stay. Rooms are in cabins and are very cosy, spotlessly clean with TV, fridge, kettle and hairdryer. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing with lots of choice on the buffets both breakfast and in the evening. The separate bistro and bar were also great offering alternative food options. The Wizards Cottage! My absolute favourite cottage in Akaslompolo. Story goes every village used to have a wizard back in the days and this might have been the cottage of the wizard of Akaslompolo (Velon means wizard). It’s round, which makes it extra cozy. There is a little fireplace with a couch in front and some tables to sit on. Great berry juice with free refill and delicious donuts! Pancakes look and smell great too!

We visited Velhonkota cafe during the wintertime by cross country skiing. I think it is one of the best "cottage cafes" Ylläs wilderness area has.
